The fields of type List Deployable to Other Category (hereinafter LDAOC) are of great importance in R2 Docuo, since they allow connecting data categories with each other.
Normally LDAOC type fields look like this when they are empty:

From here the user can do two things:
- Search for a record of the target category (in this case a responder) by typing in the text box and select it.
- Create a new record of the target category (a new participant), which will be selected as soon as it is created.
Once a record has been selected the appearance of the field is as follows:

Here the user can do two other things:
- Open the details of the selected record (square icon with an up arrow).
- Empty the field by selecting the text and pressing delete.
Usually the four actions mentioned above are useful for the user but, in some circumstances, there are some of them that do not make sense.
For example, if we do not want the user to be able to create a record of the target category when the field is empty, the “+” option is not needed.
On the other hand, if the details of the selected record do not matter to the user (or we do not want to give him access to them), the icon that allows to open these details is also superfluous.
Both options can be configured from the Fields step of the Category Manager by opening the LDAOC type field configuration:
