This article explains how to connect Claude to the R2 Docuo AI connector, so you can query your repository from a conversation with Claude.
Before you start, an administrator of your repository must have enabled the connector and granted you access. See Requirements and activation of the AI connector.
AI assistants change their menus and their capabilities frequently. The steps in this article describe the process in Claude as of September 2026: an option may have moved, been renamed, or become unnecessary in your version. If something does not match, search for “connectors” or “MCP” in its own settings.
What you need
- An R2 Docuo account as a contracted user, with “MCP access” granted, and your password.
- A Claude account on a plan that supports custom connectors. At the time of writing these are the Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans; free accounts support a single custom connector.
- The server address:

If your Claude account belongs to a Team or Enterprise plan, an administrator of your organisation may need to allow custom connectors before the option appears for you.
Claude registers itself with our authorisation server, so you do not need a client id or a client secret: the server address is enough. Its screen offers fields for them under advanced settings, but you can leave them empty. If you ever do need them, ask an administrator of your repository to request them through a support ticket.
Adding the connector
- Open Claude and go to its settings.
- Go to Connectors.
- Choose Add custom connector.
- Enter a recognisable name — for example R2 Docuo — and paste the server address:
https://mcp.r2docuo.com - Confirm. Claude will open a browser window with the R2 Docuo sign-in screen.
Signing in and choosing the repository
- Enter your R2 Docuo user name and password and continue.
- Choose the repository you want to connect to. If only one is available to your account, there is no drop-down list: that one is used.
- Review and accept the consent screen. By accepting it you authorise Claude to query that repository on your behalf and with your permissions.
The window will close and the connector will show as connected. Your password is only ever typed into the R2 Docuo screen; Claude neither sees nor stores it.
One connection works with one repository: the one you choose at this step. If you work with several, you will need to sign in again to move from one to another.
Checking that it works
Open a new conversation and ask:
Which R2 Docuo repository are you connected to, and what can you do there?
Claude should answer with your user name, the repository identifier and a summary of what it can query. If it does, the connection works end to end. From there, ask whatever you need: you will find examples in What you can ask the AI connector.
Once the connector is published in the directory
We are in the process of publishing the connector in the Claude connectors directory. Once it is available you will not have to add it by hand: it will appear in the list of connectors, you will enable it with one click, and all you will need to do is sign in and choose a repository. The steps in this article will remain valid for anyone who prefers to add it manually.
Disconnecting
Go to Claude’s settings, open Connectors and remove the R2 Docuo connector. Access is then revoked.
From the Docuo side, an administrator can withdraw your access at any time without you touching anything in Claude: the next query will be rejected.
If something does not work

| It used to work and has stopped | That access has not been withdrawn and that artificial intelligence has not been switched off on the repository. The usage limit included in your plan may also have run out. |
| Claude says tools are missing | Remove the connector and add it again. The list of tools is taken when connecting, so an old connection may be holding an outdated copy. |
If the problem persists, open a support ticket stating the repository, your user name and the approximate time of the attempt: every call is recorded in the repository’s audit log and we can trace it.
